Photos of Hanawai Village, South Lebanon

Hanawai is the name of my village. According to historians the name Hanawai derived from "John" The Baptist. The Arabic word "Hanna" means "John". Although I live abroad I always pay visit to my village at least once a year. One of the things i love about Lebanon is not only the mountains and green valleys, but something always pops in my mind that i am in the lands of Prophet Jesus (Peace be upon Him). "Qana" a village next to my village is where Prophet Jesus performed one of his miracles by turning water into wine. Also made another miracle in Tyre when a Canaanite woman met him asking him to save her daughter whom was suffering terribly from demon-possession . Whenever i walk through the open lands in South Lebanon passing under old fig and olive trees there is some sense of spirituality or heavenly if I may say around the atmosphere and my mind always recalls "Jesus foot steps to Lebanon". Lebanon is mentioned in the Holy Bible many times, appears 75 times in the Old Testament. The name of BIBLE comes from the Lebanese town "BYBLOS", Sidon (Lebanese town) is mentioned 36 times in the Bible, Tyre (Lebanese town) is mentioned 63 times in the Bible

In fact, there is a standing place for Prophet John the Babtist (Peace be upon him) in my village where he prayed and preached to the village people and telling them of the coming of Jesus (Peace be upon him). There is also a very old Church in Qana where it is still functioning up to date which i was told it existed some hundreds of years ago . I have posted a picture of the church where you will see it in the showbox below as first image from left.
